  The positive: Convenient location for those in Poplar Grove, and it's nice that they ship UPS and FedEx. The negative: "Mom and Pop" attitude. Rarely opens on time, rude store owner, overpriced for anything other than shipping rates. Call ahead to ensure they're actually open since their posted hours appear to be meaningless.

  I don't know if the previous poster caught an unfortunate day as things were ramping up for the holidays, doesn't understand that sometimes things happen to make people late, or what - but that has never been my experience at The Mailbox Store & More. Yes, they offer UPS and FedEx, but they also offer Spee-Dee services which they brought to my attention as being the cheapest alternative when available. I'm now telling everybody I know about Spee-Dee. They are ALWAYS shipping with the carrier that provides the lowest rates for me, and informing me of the most cost affective methods for packaging. Let's face it, when you go to the UPS store you get UPS services - open and shut case, no price comparisons, limited service - that's that. The Mailbox Store & More is the MOST beneficial alternative for Boone County (and the surrounding areas) simply because it provides quite a few alternatives that you may not be familiar with. I've learned more about shipping and the most cost-affective aspects of it than I ever thought possible because of this store. The owners have always been courteous, helpful, and on the one occasion I arrived earlier than posted hours prepared to wait, the open sign was already lit and they took care of me without an issue. Like I said, I've been shipping items every week for over a year here and the owners have always gone out of their way to let me know what's going to be happening. They have a wonderful store front full of seasonal items to look at if you have to wait for anything, and they also offer copy/fax and ebay services as well as key making (I actually had a duplicate made today). I even drove by the alley out back one day and the gentleman that owns the store was wrapping a pallet full of, what looked like, antique bed frames! The Mailbox Store & More is a one stop location that fulfills a lot of services that you would have to drive 3 or 4 places to get. I'll give my money to these fine people over corporate stores any day - the service alone has always been worth it, not to mention all the services they offer.
